ABOUT ME

I’m an Egyptian Costume Designer with a passion for the arts and humanities. I grew up in the small coastal city of Alexandria and attended The American University in Cairo (AUC) where I got my BA in History. I’ve been pursuing costume design as a professional career since my graduation from university in 2020 where I began my career in theater by taking part in university productions.

Since then I’ve been part of several film, theater, and television productions in Egypt and Lebanon in various positions in the costume department. I have a passion for the humanities and the arts, and my process is multidisciplinary and draws inspiration from a variety of art forms and fields. I am drawn towards a collaborative and egalitarian working environment and compelling stories and scripts. A lifelong student, I enjoy exploring different communities, histories, and worlds, I am enthusiastic about research and discovering different design possibilities.

I’m currently pursuing an MFA  degree in Costume Design at The University of Washington’s School of Drama.
