Six criminals, hired to steal diamonds, do not know each other’s true identity. While attempting the heist, the police ambush them, leading them to believe that one of them is an undercover officer. This play is an Egyptianized adaptation of Quinten Tarantino’s cult classic Reservoir Dogs, where the special effects including gunshots and fake blood are translated to the stage along with fight choreography.
Khalil and I collaborated for the second time after Twelve Angry Jurors. This play was produced by his production company Kenoma. He left me freedom of artistic choice again but he highlighted the importance of movement due to the fact that there will be stage combat and gun fuses. At that point, I had not seen the original Tarantino film and I refused to see it so it won’t affect my choices.
One of our biggest challenges was the cost of the shirts that would be shot every night. Fuses completely destroy the shirt and we had to take into account the number of actors who got shot and for how many nights including the rehearsals.
