When the head of the accident department in a local newspaper is unable to find an event to fill a section, he makes up an incident about a wolf roaming the streets of old Cairo. Thinking nothing of it the next morning, to everyone’s surprise, the small section becomes national news. A colorful collection of characters appears to gain from the event after the news becomes the talk of the town.
This was an independent play produced by AUC Alumni. I was suggested as a candidate to design this play by one of my friends. I had a phone call with Ahmed Hani the director and we discussed the play and was sent the script. We met up a couple of weeks later and decided to change the original time period of the play, Egypt in the late 70s, to Egypt in the 90s.
I attended a rehearsal and met with the cast and crew. I took note of the movement as it was a very physical play. Hani also told me that he wanted Ezzat, the main character, to look like a wolf.
