The Head of the Glaucoma unit, and the Glaucoma surgery research group at the University of Geneva Hospitals.

  • Medical bachelor & Master’s Degree in ophthalmology at the University of Cairo.
  • Doctorate in Medicine degree from the University of Lausanne.
  • Trained in ophthalmology at the Cairo Research Institute of Ophthalmology and completed two glaucoma fellowships at the Universities of Lausanne and Basel.
  • Currently: the President of the International Society of Glaucoma Surgery.

Sidi Mohammed Ezzouhairi (Morocco)

He is currently president of Moroccan Blindness Association, General Secretary of Moroccan Glaucoma Society, and Administrator member of French Glaucoma Society.
He is a glaucoma specialist, head of glaucoma center, based in Mohammed 5 Avenue, Mohammedia city, Morocco.

Ahmed Assaf (Egypt)

Dr. Assaf is currently a professor at Ain Shams University and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Also, he is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon in phaco-refractive surgeries at Al Watany Eye Hospital (WEH) performing more than 115 cataract surgeries and 90 refractive surgeries per month.

He is an active participant in the annual meetings of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) since 2004 till now.

Jean-Marie Giraud (France)

Ophthalmologist surgeon at the Army Hospitals since 2006.
Associate Professor of Val de Grâce since 2013.
​He is a member of the board of directors of the French Society of Ophthalmology and of the French Bank of the Eyes, member of the French Society of Glaucoma, the European Association for Vision and Eye Research, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the Société d’Ophtalmologie de Paris.
Pr Jean-Marie Giraud successively directed the ophthalmology services of the Sainte Anne Armies Training Hospital in Toulon, then that of the Val de Grâce Armies Training Hospital, whose resettlement he organized at Begin.
He performs cataract, glaucoma and retina surgeries.
